Beyond First World is committed to empowering kids in underdeveloped countries by pairing with The Vietnamese Heritage Institute. This organization receives 10% of our net profits to invest in educational infrastructure in developing countries, to provide these kids with more opportunities to create lives that they are proud to live.

Our Story
The idea of Beyond First World was born in 2010 after I took my eldest daughter to my homeland, Vietnam. On that trip, we befriended a local Sa Pa family which consisted of an aunt, Anh, and a niece, Thuy. Later on, I would learn that Thuy’s mother was tricked and sold into the South East Asian sex-trafficking market through false promises of greater opportunities to provide for her family.
In 1976 my parents put my siblings and I on a boat to flee the Vietnam War with hopes to provide us with greater opportunities. Thuy’s mother wanted the same and was punished for it as a result. Knowing that I couldn't change their past, I wanted to prevent this tragedy from impacting any other families in the future, and thus began Beyond First World.
